Our Platform Committee has proposed two amendments to the platform, and they have been approved for consideration by this year's State Convention delegates. Your vote as a state delegate will determine whether we incorporate the amendments.
You will have the option to vote one of three ways: Yes, No (this doesn't belong in the platform), No (more discussion needed). The amendments are as follows:
-
Amendment A:
- Economic Growth. We support the free market system as the engine for economic growth. Public policy must promote economic opportunity for all, regardless of social and economic class, including the poor and needy.
- Current language is "Economic Growth. We support preservation of the free market system as the engine for future economic growth. This growth must “raise all boats”; public policy must promote economic opportunity for all, regardless of social and economic class, including the poor and needy."
-
Amendment B:
-
Family. We support the family as the basic unit of society and uphold the sanctity of human life including opposition to abortion except in cases of rape, incest, fatal fetal deformities, or serious jeopardy to the life or health of the mother. We value the life, health, and safety of mothers and children, as well as the unborn.
