A Call for Volunteers
We always hear about how it takes money to be involved in politics. And it does. Everything from phone bills to yard signs to online ads require financial resources. Over the years, many of you have stepped up to the plate and donated to both the UUP and our candidates so that we can bring another voice to Utah politics. We appreciate each and every donation, large or small.
While every dollar matters, there is another resource that is just as necessary in politics, time.
With the exception of two part-time administrative positions, the United Utah Party runs on volunteer hours. State officers, county officers, executive committee members, media committee members, website admins. We all volunteer our time and talents because we believe in the mission of the United Utah Party.
And then there are our candidates. Not only do UUP candidates volunteer their time, many of them contribute financially to their own campaigns.
Like money, time is a resource that is not always in abundant supply for many of us. As volunteers ourselves, we understand. But if you can find even a small amount of time in your busy schedule, we can use your talents as we all work together towards a good cause.
Volunteering with the UUP comes in all shapes and sizes. It could mean helping with one-off events, completing a dedicated project, or filling a leadership position.
Here are just a few ideas:
One-off
- Walk in a parade
- Staff an event booth
- Share social posts
Projct-based
- Plan an event
- Create social media content
- Write an op-ed
Campaign Support
- Display a yard sign
- Help distribute yard signs
- Help distribute printed materials
- Host an open-house
Ongoing
- Serve in county leadership
- Serve on a committee
- Serve in state-level positions
The more volunteers we have, the more we can accomplish. As the saying goes, many hands make light work.
