County Convention Season is Here!
County Convention season is here! When it’s an “off year” for partisan elections, we hold our county conventions in the fall. This is so we can select county leaders, greet old friends, meet new ones, and gear up for the coming elections. We’ll be sending postcard invitations to our known Uniters a week or two before your convention, but if you’d like to save the date now, you can find a complete list of our county conventions at unitedutah.org/calendar.
Just as with state conventions, our county conventions are open to everyone. Anyone who is registered as a Uniter (meaning your state voter registration lists your affiliation as “United Utah Party”) is welcome to attend as a delegate at their local county convention. Anyone who isn’t a Uniter is still welcome to attend as an observer. The more the merrier!
Some counties have moved their conventions to Zoom due to concerns about COVID-19. Others are currently scheduled for in-person conventions. We request that all attendees at in-person conventions wear masks and socially distance. As I mentioned in our last newsletter, we will modify our plans as needed and with the input of local county leaders, but the work we are doing is too important to wait. One way or another, we will find a way forward.
Whether it’s in-person or via Zoom, I encourage you to take the time to attend your local county convention. Together, let’s build a better Utah!
