We are excited to announce this year's recipient of the Golden Spike Award, the most prestigious award given by our Party, is Katie Wright, the Executive Director of the "Better Boundaries" organization.

Better Boundaries was instrumental in supporting the passage of Prop 4 in Utah in 2018, which created the Independent Redistricting Commission in Utah - a critical government reform to empower the citizens of Utah to fight gerrymandering and have a voice in the creation of voting districts.

Katie and Better Boundaries continue to advocate for the citizens of Utah today by challenging the Utah Legislature, who ignored the recommendations of the Independent Redistricting Commission and instead passed gerrymandered maps they drafted behind closed doors with no public input.

The United Utah Party is a strong supporter of the efforts of Better Boundaries to end gerrymandering in Utah.
