ORRIN HATCH PASSES AWAY AT 88

Former Senator Orrin Hatch has passed away at the age of 88. The United Utah Party appreciates his long career of civic service. "Senator Hatch was a wonderful example of dedicated service to his state and nation,” says Hillary Stirling, United Utah Party Chair.

“Senator Hatch's career was marked by dedication and commitment to his values,” Stirling said. Senator Hatch was the longest-serving Republican in Senate history until his retirement in 2019. He was staunchly committed to his principles but was willing to reach across the aisle to pass key legislation.

The UUP is working to bring this kind of principled governance back into the mainstream. The UUP is committed to principles over partisanship and supports candidates and legislators who believe the same.

“Good governance shouldn't mean compromising your beliefs,” said Stirling. “Senator Hatch was a longtime servant of Utah and the United States. We encourage all voters to follow his example of civic engagement and service. We offer our condolences to his family at this difficult time. He will be missed.”
