PRESS RELEASE: United Utah Party Endorses 9 Independent Candidates at Special Convention

At a special convention held on August 21, 2024, United Utah Party delegates overwhelmingly voted to approve the endorsement of the following unaffiliated candidates for public office in Utah.
Alisa Van Langeveld     (Senate District 8)
Jason Allen            (State School Board)
Jessica Wignall         (House District 39)
Lori Spruance          (Senate District 24)
Michael Lambert        (Davis County Commission)
Monnica Manuel        (Senate District 16)
Oran Stainbrook         (Senate District 26)
Pamela Bloom          (Senate District 17)
Patrick Belmont         (House District 3)
“We are honored to endorse these independent candidates” said United Utah Party Chair, Ladd Johnson.  “We continue to see a growing number of citizens who realize that the political solutions we need will not come from within the two main parties.  Those who would be dismissive of centrist third party and independent candidates are overlooking a significant trend in politics.  These candidates, like the United Utah Party candidates, are not “fringe” candidates.  They are excellent, mainstream candidates who have been actively involved in the community for years and whose policy objectives are consistent with the 5E’s of the United Utah Party: Economy, Education, Environment, Equality and Ethical Government.”

The United Utah Party Bylaws allow for the endorsement of unaffiliated candidates who are  “well aligned with the values and platform of the United Utah Party.” Party leaders and delegates feel confident that these nine individuals will lead with integrity as they work to bring collaboration, communication, and a focus on good government back to Utah politics.
