We Need Your Civic Engagement
The legislature has done what it should have done long before—scrap legislation that was not only unpopular but also bad for the citizens of the state. Legislators could have avoided this disaster some time ago had they listened to the voters. But their tone-deafness is as great as their arrogance.
There is no better case for the UUP than what the legislature has just done. Without competition and the reality that they will be removed when they act this way, they will do it again. For decades, they have had little fear they will be removed when they reject the people’s will.
The UUP can provide the tool for the voters to control their own representatives. But we need to do certain things to perform that critical role.
We need to recruit candidates across the state who can take on and beat incumbents who are out of touch with Utahns. Let us know if you would like to be that person or can suggest people we should recruit by writing to [email protected].
We need to raise a sufficient amount of money to help our candidates win.
We need many people to offer support to candidates by helping them distribute flyers, putting up signs, or talking to friends and neighbors. Go here to help us help you do that.
Our political system rests on self-government by the people. But self-government is more than complaining or even liking something on Facebook. It is Civic Engagement. It is taking some of our time to help make our representative system work. That system is not working in Utah right now. Let’s make it work again.
Together, let’s make Utah even better.
–Richard Davis, Chair

A Letter From Joe Jarvis, Candidate for Congress
Dear fellow United Utah Party member:
My name is Dr. Joe Jarvis, and I’m honored to be seeking the party’s nomination for Congress in Utah’s 2nd Congressional District. If we all work together, we can unseat Chris Stewart and bring sanity back to Washington, DC.
I would love to talk with you personally to answer questions about my campaign or arrange a visit with your neighbors in the district. You can reach me at [email protected]. In the meantime, I hope you’ll visit jarvisforcongress.com, where you can learn about my campaign, volunteer to help, and make a donation.
Your donations are especially critical at this point in the campaign. This is the time when we’re gathering the “seed money” that will sprout into mailers, yard signs, ads, and other persuasion tools by November. You donation will never be more important than it is right now!
I know that if we work together, we can cure the toxic polarization that’s taken hold of our politics. It won’t be easy, and it will take everyone who reads this pitching in, but it is possible. I want to thank you in advance for everything you’re doing and everything you will do to share our Utah values with our neighbors in this great state.
And remember, if you want change, change Congress!
Dr. Joe Jarvis
About Joe: Dr. Joseph Quinn Jarvis is descended from Utah pioneers. He’s experienced a varied career as a physician, a public health officer, an academic, an author, and a small business owner. Though he’d been active in Republican politics for years, he left the GOP in 2016, when it nominated a presidential candidate who Joe found incompatible with his Utah values.
