UUP Announces 2024 Candidates

United Utah Party Announces 2024 Candidates
11 candidates have filed with the UUP, more than any other third-party in Utah

The United Utah Party is proud to announce that 11 candidates have filed to run for office across the state. "The UUP and our candidates are excited to give voters a choice for citizen-focused government in Utah," says Ladd Johnson, United Utah Party Chair.

UUP candidates in 2024 include Michelle Quist for Attorney General, Vaughn Cook for CD4, Alan Wessman for Utah County Commission, and Tori Broughton for Wasatch City Council District D, in addition to seven other candidates for the Utah House of Representatives. The UUP is running more candidates than any other third-party in the state.

"We're bringing accountability back to Utah politics. Too many races are uncontested, or just a choice between two extremes that most voters don't actually want," says Johnson. "Our candidates give voters real options. We focus on principles over partisanship, and we want practical solutions instead of political grandstanding."

The UUP party platform emphasizes every-day, pocketbook issues that matter to ordinary citizens with the UUP's legislative priorities focused on "the 5 E's:"
  • Economy
  • Education
  • Environment
  • Equality
  • Ethical Government

"Our candidates are hardworking, dedicated citizens who are more interested in making government work for our citizens than building up the power of political parties.  We're thrilled to have so many great people running for office with our party."
